Romario Pestano of Plantain Walk, West Bank Demerara (WBD) appeared before Magistrate Christel Lambert at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday to answer to an unlawful wounding charge.
The prosecution contended that on August 31, 2017 in the West Demerara District, Pestano unlawfully wounded Gilbert Bennett, the Virtual Complainant (VC).
The accused man, who stated that he was a construction worker, denied the allegation by way of entering a not-guilty plea. As such, Magistrate Lambert granted him ,000 bail, but Pestano related to the court that he did not have the money to pay as he is currently out of work. He was placed on the bench before being escorted out of court. The Plantain Walk resident will make his next court appearance at Vreed-en-Hoop on October 30.
