Pleased with Govt’s action towards children

Dear Editor,
Everyone seems very happy to receive the education cash grant currently being distributed in Guyana, and the announcement by Vice President Dr Jagdeo that the Government is also considering private schools surely shows that in keeping with the slogan “no one should be left out”, this Administration is not causing separation. Despite wicked elements lurking and spreading the seeds of hatred, without a doubt, everyone is quite pleased with the Government’s action towards school children and assisting parents.
Editor, when the COVID-19 relief money started distributing throughout Guyana, there was lots of confusion, resulting in many not being recipients of the relief money, and some remain unfortunate. Notably, many immigrants seeking refuge in Guyana were under the impression that they would have also been receiving the relief money, but that wasn’t the case.
Many of these immigrants managed to get their children enrolled in Government schools using their country’s papers and I am wondering if they would be fortunate to receive the cash grant too. I personally think that they are entitled to it also because their parents are working in Guyana and contributing to the economy too.

Sincerely,
Sahadeo Bates
