Plumber discovers loaded revolver in female washroom at CJIA

A loaded revolver has been discovered in a public female washroom facility at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport at Timehri, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Police have said that, on Friday, a 30-year-old plumber attached to the CJIA went to the washroom at the western side of the airport’s compound to carry out a routine inspection when the weapon was discovered.
He reportedly told Police that, as he entered the washroom, he observed a firearm on the ‘cistern’ of the toilet, and immediately reported the matter.
Ranks from the Timehri Police Station responded immediately and found the .38 revolver with six live rounds of matching ammunition.
The firearm has been taken to the Timehri Police Station as investigations continue.
