PMTC’s Mentore, Ross cop major awards at 2018 ceremony

Shemroy Ross and Candacy Mentore were respective crowned Male/Female Volleyballers-of-the-Year as the Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC) recently hosted its Awards Ceremony for 2018; at the PMC Hostel in Berbice.
PMTC has been among the top volleyball clubs in the country and arguably the most dominant in Berbice, having won a number of tournaments this year. The ceremony was hosted by former Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) President Levi Nedd who is also the current President of the Guyana Volleyball Association (GVA), having being elected late 2018.

which seems to be growing with each passing year. Although 2018 was difficult for the club having faced challenges which are normal; Nedd nevertheless believes that it was important to use the negatives to make for a success.
Among other areas discussed was the clubs financial report along with aspects regarding the overall areas being tabled; as they enter 2019. Among those prominent players awarded included; Renaldo Bobb who bagged the most Promising Male player award; Hannah Hicks most promising Female player; Ravi Rampartab the most dedicated male player.
For the ladies, Philana Simpson won the most dedicated female player award; while son of GVF President Levi Nedd Junior won the most disciplined player; Samuel Fraser was given the most consistent male player trophy.
Former BVF Pr4sident Gregory Rambarran, BVA member Errol Fingall both hailed the club for its growth and success during their respective speeches; while Ross who is also the new PMTC President further reiterated words of the aforementioned
Meanwhile, GVF will be hosting its maiden Diamond Mineral Water male and female Beach Volleyball Tournament at the Marriott Beach Front this Sunday from 08:00h.
