Members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday and Tuesday conducted safety and education outreach sessions at schools in the Northwest District, Region One (Barima-Waini), and on the East Coast of Demerara, Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relations with the public and promote awareness among children.
On Monday, Assistant Superintendent of Police Puran Narine, along with ranks from the Port Kaituma Police Station, delivered a lecture at the Port Kaituma Nursery and Primary School in the Northwest District. The engagement focused on the role of education and personal responsibility among students.
During the session, ASP Narine highlighted the importance of education, noting that it is a key pathway to future opportunities. Students were encouraged to remain committed to their studies and to make responsible choices both at school and at home.

Several topics were addressed, including road safety, respect for others, punctuality, and maintaining orderly behaviour. Students were also advised to abstain from alcohol, reject child labour, and avoid dropping out of school. The ranks further encouraged students to report any incidents of child molestation to trusted adults such as parents or teachers.
A total of 23 teachers and 340 students were in attendance at the Port Kaituma session.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Assistant Superintendent I Grandison, Sergeant Fraser, Sergeant Peters, and Corporal McDonald from the Mahaica Police Station conducted a general safety talk at Helena Nursery School, East Coast of Demerara.
The interactive session was aimed at instilling basic safety habits among young students, with particular emphasis on awareness of their surroundings and the proper use of roadways.
