As the Guyana Police Force (GPF) continues its eradication exercise, police in Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) destroyed 17 million worth of ganja.
Police stated that ranks conducted an eradication exercise during which a cannabis farm measuring seven acres in size with about 50,000 plants ranging from three inches to six feet in height was discovered.
The camp and plants being destroyed
In addition, several farming tools, three camps, and 10 live 12-gauge cartridges were found. As such, the plants along with the farming tools and camps were destroyed by fire.
The 12-gauge cartridges were lodged at the Police Station. No arrest has been made.
