Police destroy ganja field with over 7000 plants at Yarrowkabra

As Police continue their drug eradication exercise, a team of eight ranks swooped down on a location at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, on Friday where they found a ganja field containing about 7689 cannabis plants.

The operation was conducted in the swamplands, some six miles off Yarrowkabra village. The operation, which was led by three officers and eight other ranks, unearthed plants that measured between three and five feet in height.
Upon the discovery, the plants were cut and destroyed by fire. At the time of the discovery, no one was on the farm. The Police are, however, continuing their investigation to ascertain the owner of the property.
