An almost 12-hour eradication exercise at Henrietta Village in the Berbice River on Sunday unearthed over 108,000 pounds of ganja.
The exercise, conducted by a party of policemen, started at about 07:00h and ended at 18:40h. The team reportedly went to Henrietta Village, Upper Berbice River, where two cannabis farms were located along with one makeshift camp.
The farms measured about five (5) acres in length and had about 13,000 cannabis plants ranging from three to five feet in height.
In addition, about eighty pounds of dried ganja was found hanging in the camps along with five salt bags containing leaves. An estimated weight of the cannabis plants is 108,600lbs.
The farms along with the dried cannabis were all destroyed by fire.
