Police hunting suspects who rob missionary

Detectives from A Division are now searching for two men who on Friday pounced on a missionary from the United States and relieved him of 0,000. They have been identified.

way from a city bank and traversing Church Street in the vicinity of St George’s Cathedral when robbery occurred.

Based on information, Smith had emerged from an office when a car blocked his path. A gunman exited and lashed Smith on his head and shoulder before snatching the bag with the money. The gunman re-entered the car and escaped.

Meanwhile, subsequent to the robbery, two media operatives who witnessed the ordeal gave chase.

During a high speed chase the suspects, aware they were being followed, exited the vehicle at Crown and Oronoque Streets, opening gunfire at the vehicle the media operatives were in. Fortunately none of the journalists were injured.

Contact was made with A Division Commander Clifton Hicken, who along with his team took over the chase.

The men were however able to escape.
