The Police are now on the hunt for two men who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl of Fort Wellington, Berbice on Tuesday last.
Based on reports received, the teenager met the two known males at a mall at Rosignol, West Coast Berbice, and later accompanied them to a shop at Cotton Tree. The teenager claimed that she was drugged and taken to a section of the shop where the two men sexually assaulted her.
Although the incident allegedly occurred on Tuesday, the matter was reported to the Police on Thursday afternoon. After the matter was reported, the teenager was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital, where she was examined by a doctor.
Guyana Times understands that the teenager left her mother’s home at about 21:45h to visit the mall where she was supposed to meet two other female friends but after waited for a while and they did not show up, she was approached by the two young men who invited her out for drinks.
The two suspects are still on the run as Police continue to investigate the incident.
