The game was lively in the opening 20 minutes as Pele took the attack to the Rangers forcing saves from the custodian in the opening minutes, however their failure to convert the many chances that fell their way would come back to haunt them as a brace from Anthony Sancho in the 7th and 22nd minutes and a solitary strike from Stephon Reynolds in the 36th minute would seal the game for the Northern Rangers. In the final game of the night Riddim Squad needed a single goal to get past an experienced Santos FC to secure maximum points.Like the losers of game two, Santos also had numerous chances to take the lead in the first half but their failure to convert those chances cost them the game as Riddim Squad’s Rolex Smith would capitalize on a defensive error in the 30th minute to put his team in the lead and effectively win the game.
The tournament will continue on Monday evening at the same venue with the three remaining group stage matches.
