Police are investigating the alleged offence of larceny by a clerk or servant valued at more than $153 million, reportedly committed against a telecommunications company.
The suspect is 37-year-old accountant Quincy Baird of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara. According to Police, the alleged offence is said to have occurred between July 1, 2021, and February 18, 2025.
On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at about 16:33h, ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters conducted an operation along the East Bank Demerara, during which the suspect was contacted in relation to the allegation.
Police said the man was informed of the allegation, arrested, and escorted to the CID Headquarters, where he remains in custody pending further investigations.
