Police have unearthed some 27.2kg of marijuana in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Reports are a team of Police ranks stationed in Berbice, acting on information received, swooped down on the suspect’s two-story East Bank Berbice residence about 11:15h and conducted a search of his presence.

According to Police, 16 taped parcels of compressed cannabis were found. The Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice resident who was arrested has been on the Police’s radar for “quite a while” Police said.
Guyana Times was told that the house is owned by someone who was wanted for the gunning down of a man in Queenstown, Georgetown.
