Police unearth 3 shotguns on Brazilian man’s farm

A Brazilian man is now on the run after three illegal shotguns were discovered on his farm on Thursday.

According to reports, ranks operating in Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) received information that the man had several unlicensed weapons at his premises.
Police made their way to the man’s property and conducted a search on the farm at Katuru Village, South Central Rupununi, Lethem, where the three illegal shotguns were discovered.
However, the policemen were unable to locate the owner. Reports are that the Brazilian man was contacted by someone who informed him that police were at his premises conducting a search. Repeated checks by Police to arrest the suspect were futile as he did not return to his house in Lethem.
Investigators were told that the man may have returned to his country. Investigations are continuing.
