Police arrested a 25-year-old Charlestown, Georgetown man on Sunday after he was caught with 1236 grams of cannabis.
Reports are that at about 14:30h Police went to Hill and Princes Streets, Georgetown, during an intelligence operation. Police confronted the suspect, who was seen with a bulky black plastic bag in his possession.
During the search, three transparent plastic parcels were found wrapped. Police said that the parcels were opened in the suspect’s presence and found to contain a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspect was told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Brickdam Police Station where the narcotic was weighed.
He remains in custody pending charges.
