Three weeks after 49-year-old Kissoondatt Premsukh, a contractor of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, was killed execution style at a construction site at D’Urban Street, Lodge, Georgetown, the police have finally completed their investigations and the file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
This was related to Guyana Times on Tuesday by Regional Commander Phillip Azore during a brief telephone interview.
One day after the contractor’s execution, two suspects were taken into custody for questioning, but were subsequently released. In addition, a businessman was also arrested but was released.
It was reported that the businessman had hired the hitmen to kill the contractor, who was having an affair with his wife.
However, Premsukh was at his D’Urban Street, Lodge worksite on July 17, when the two armed men pulled up on a motorcycle and discharged several bullets in his direction. According to reports, the father of three was shot multiple times.
The injured man collapsed and was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
This publication was informed that one month prior to his death, an attempt was made to end his life. Also, on Father’s Day, the contractor was injured after he was shot twice by an unknown assailant.
