A Police Constable attached to the Timehri Police Station was admitted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital following an accident along Patentia Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD) on Saturday evening.
The injured Police Officer was identified as 22-year-old Robindra Persaud of Belle West Housing Scheme, WBD.
Based on information received, on the day in question about 22:45h, Persaud was driving motor car PKK 1590 along the Patentia Public Road at a fast pace.
He subsequently lost control of the vehicle and collided with another motor car, bearing registration number PZZ 999, which was parked on the eastern side of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Persaud sustained injuries to his body and was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was treated and admitted as a patient.
His condition is regarded as stable. An investigation was launched into the accident.
