…COVID-19
That the PNC would use the COVID-19 pandemic to hang on to power by any means necessary was clear, even before the pandemic hit Guyana. Remember Volda Lawrence (Health) and Khemraj Ramjattan (Security) teaming up to close down the front track and backtrack routes from Suriname the week before the elections?? And opened them back right after the elections were over?? We’re talking about end of February – 1st week of March, OK?
So this means that even though we recorded our 1st COVID-19 case (that lady from NY, who passed away) on March 11, our crack health and security mavens had determined — TWO WEKS BEFORE — that the threat was coming from Suriname; and as soon as the elections were over, there was no more threat!!
They never explained how exactly they figured all this out; but then, in his role as head of security, Ramjattan was able to intercept Russian spies entering Guyana with equipment to hack into our paper and pencil elections!
Dare we suggest such experts would’ve pulled the Suriname stunt just to prevent folks who might vote PPP from crossing over; and just used COVID-19 as a cover?? They wouldn’t be so cynical, would they??
Well…erm…yes, they would!! We saw this when it was revealed that all tests for COVID had to be sent first to Volda Lawrence!! Why in God’s name would Lawrence need to look at those tests?? At the most mundane level, she was holding up critical results needed to treat patients expeditiously.
Then, of course, there was the intervention by Nagamootoo’s NCTF: to insist that the recount could be done only if 30,000 masks were used, since masks had to be changed by the users every half-hour or so!! Never mind that now that the recount’s under way, some weren’t even wearing a mask — like the harridan Carol Joseph, when she cussed out some other hapless agent in her vicinity!!
The next COVID political intervention came after Nagamootoo had been pushed aside for Harmon to take over and use the COVID weapon against bigger targets. The biggest of them, in the eyes of the PNC’s Burnhamite faction – which includes Granger, Alexander and Hamilton Green – was the Carter Center. They’d “caused” the PNC to lose power in 1992!! And we see the absolute refusal to allow that group back into Guyana – even when Granger himself was asked by the Western powers!!
And we arrive at the COVID’s latest deployment – against Jonas of ANUG. Jonas has emerged as a voice for the Georgetown influential “red” crowd, previously held by Trotman.
So, while he’s “asymptomatic”, he’s been banned from the ACCC for showing COVID “symptoms”!!
But really for confirming that the PPP’s right on PNC’s rigging!!
…and racialising Guyana’s elections
As if the PNC-as-APNU doesn’t have enough problems, Rickford Burke, their loose cannon from Brooklyn – who yet insists he lives in Dix Hills, an upscale lily-white Long Island neighbourhood – has now moved to racialise and politicise their lobbying in the US. Clearly, Burke – who’s moving for Granger to be removed and replaced by “hardliners” – doesn’t think much about the efforts of the same hardliners, who hired JJ&BLLC to lobby Congress and the administration with their “dossier”!
Burke seems to have worked on Congressman Hakeem Jeffries from Brooklyn/Queens to make a call for the “US to quit interfering with Guyana’s elections”. He and Jeffries attend the same church. But what he forgets is that Jeffries is a Democrat, and in this election year, his input into American Foreign Policy is worth squat.
Secondly, by viciously attacking the Carter Centre as “racists”, Burke and the PNC also forget that Carter was one of the most liberal Democrats when it came to race relations with African- Americans.
Jeffries has been taken for a ride!!

Did the PNC mandarins really think it through when they decided to treat the media workers at the recount literally like cattle??
Did they expect them to do #1 and #2 in the grass??
