Following the incident, Region Two authorities moved swiftly to assess the damage and coordinate assistance. Support was provided through a multi-agency effort involving the Regional Democratic Council (RDC), the Human Services and Social Security Ministry, the Guyana Fire Service, the Charity Neighbourhood Democratic Council, and the Civil Defence Commission (CDC).
Immediate relief items were distributed to help meet the family’s urgent needs, while the RDC continues to coordinate other assistance. The CDC also played a key role in delivering emergency support in the immediate aftermath of the fire.
In the interim, the displaced family has been accommodated by a neighbouring resident as plans are being developed to provide longer-term assistance, including efforts towards rebuilding their home.
The affected family has since expressed appreciation to all persons involved in the relief intervention and support.
