The 37-year-old Elliott, a clothes vendor of Lot 1206 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was chopped several times about her body by the suspect, who had turned up at the house unexpectedly, thus precipitating an argument.
After committing the act, the man reportedly fled the scene, leaving the blood-stained murder weapon behind. The injured woman reportedly made attempts to walk over to her neighbour’s house, but she collapsed.
Upon seeing the woman drenched in blood, the neighbours picked her up and took her to the Linden Hospital Complex, where the mother of five was pronounced dead on arrival.
Hours after allegedly committing the act, London was apprehended by Police at Moblissa, Linden-Soesdyke Highway. He was shot to his left leg by Police ranks after he attacked them.
London was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was treated before being taken into Police custody.
Meanwhile, a post-mortem conducted on the remains of Elliott has given her cause of death as multiple incised wounds. The post-mortem also revealed that the woman was stabbed 15 times.
