Pork-knocker stabbed to death in Region 1

A 27-year-old pork-knocker of Big Creek Backdam, North West District (NWD), died on Monday after he was stabbed by a gold miner, with whom he was imbibing.
Dead is Eutan George, called “Blacka”.
Police have since arrested the 22-year-old suspect, who is from Big Creek Backdam.
Investigations revealed that both the suspect and George were imbibing on Monday at a shop, and about 18:00h, they left the premises.
Reports are that George headed west in the direction of his home, and the suspect was seen walking behind him. Moments later, George’s 22-year-old brother was walking to the shop when he observed his brother lying face up with what appeared to be a stab wound to his chest.
George was motionless and unresponsive, Police said, and the brother raised an alarm.
The incident was reported to a prominent resident in the area who then reported the incident to the Port Kaituma Police Station. George was taken to the Port Kaituma District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is at the hospital’s mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Based on the information received, the suspect was arrested at his home. He was escorted to Port Kaituma Police Station, where he was placed in custody.
He has since allegedly confessed to committing the act and provided information that led to the recovery of the suspected murder weapon. (G9)
