Investigations have wrapped up in the murder case against Michael London, accused of murdering his wife Shanika Elliott London, 37, at her Lot 1206 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden home on Friday May 19, 2017.
The prosecution in the case indicated that the file has been completed. London, 35, who was charged with the capital offence, made his second court appearance before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the presiding Magistrate set the date for his trial to commence on September 12.
He has been remanded to prison. It is alleged that London, a pork-knocker who was stationed at an interior location, stabbed his wife, a clothes vendor approximately 15 times about her body after he showed up unexpectedly at the home on the day in question, accusing her of infidelity.
Drenched in blood, the deceased managed to make it to the home of a neighbour where she sought help, but collapsed outside. The attacker who fled the scene, reportedly left behind a blood-stained knife suspected to be the murder weapon.
The woman, who was the sister of popular disc jockey Akelo “DJ Akelo” Elliott was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC). Following a Police manhunt for London who was a suspect in the case, he was apprehended later that evening at Moblissa, Linden Soesdyke highway where he was shot in the leg by Police after resisting arrest.
