Forty-five-year-old Alvin Robinson, a machine operator of Citrus Grove, Port Kaituma, Region One (Barima-Waini), was on Friday arraigned and remanded to prison for the indictable charge of rape when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Robinson, also called “Big Joe”, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty and was not required to plead to the charge which stated that between January 26 and January 27, 2019, at Port Kaituma, he engaged in sexual penetration with a 20-year-old woman.
The accused was remanded to prison until February 3, 2020, and will reappear before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
