Porter lands in jail for attempted robbery

Odwin David, of Hadfield Street, Georgetown, was remanded to prison on Wednesday after he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with attempted robbery.
The 29-year-old porter appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied that on January 11, 2020, at Camp Street, Georgetown, he attempted to commit a felony, that is to say, while being armed with a knife, he attempted to rob Stephon Hall.
According to the prosecution, the Virtual Complainant was approached by David, who asked him for a $100. The prosecution is contending that the VC refused and kept walking, but the defendant pushed him to the ground and proceeded to search his bag. However, no valuables were found and he escaped. The matter was reported to the Police and following an investigation, David was arrested. The matter was adjourned for February 5, 2020.
