Pouderoyen man slapped with larceny charge

A father of two was placed on ,000 bail when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday to answer to a simple larceny charge.
It is alleged that Kevin Polly, 29, of Lot 55 Phoenix Park, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, entered the premises at Lot 1 Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, and stole one bicycle valued ,000, property of Annette Merchant, on July 7.
Polly, who is a horse-cart operator, pleaded not guilty to the offence. The court also heard that the defendant was previously before the court, but those charges were dismissed.
