A poultry farmer of Clifton Settlement, Corentyne, Berbice, was on Sunday arrested after he was found with illegal firearm and ammunition.
Based on reports received, Police acted on information received and went to a farmhouse at Babu John, Port Mourant, and carried out a search during which an unlicensed revolver with two live and four spent .38 ammunition were found on a table.
At the time of the discovery, a 60-year-old farmer suspected to be the owner of the farm was present and as such was arrested. He is assisting Police in their investigations.
