Home Letters PPP/C must exculpate itself from GECOM’s improprieties
Dear Editor,
GECOM remains a sore thumb in the new PPP/C’s Administration. It astonishes the world that nothing has been done to take action against the GECOM’s top brass who have been accused of the most heinous improprieties. By Public Service procedures and custom, the officers of a Department who are criminally charged before the Courts or are suspected of improprieties, are suspended, sent on leave without pay or dismissed. Such action is the responsibility of the Chairman of the GECOM since GECOM is an independent entity and not under the Public Service Commission.
When Dr Irfaan Ali assumed office as President nearly half-a-year ago, he promised to appoint a Commission to recommend on the reformation of GECOM and appropriate action against errant staff.
Would President Ali and Chairman of GECOM now act appropriately and promptly?
Yours sincerely
Paul Validum Ramlochan
