Prayers for Guyana

Dear Editor,
I might sound unorthodox with regards to political affairs but allow me to articulate my observation from a spiritual perspective with regards to the forthcoming general elections. It is important that we keep all our contesting leaders in our prayers. There is so much talk about the unity of all Guyanese. This is good yet we see division in the air. It is God who ordained that there will be order in chaos. Let this chaos turn into a celebration of life and not aggression. As we know, prayers move mountains, thus, I urge all of us to pray without ceasing that peace may prevail. Let this election be a positive experience for each Guyanese and may our children remember this as a great election. May God help our leaders to do an examination of conscience and hear the quiet voice of God in the depth of their being, for God speaks in the silence of the spirit. Let the spirit of humanity lead Guyana to move forward. I will be praying for this grace and I appeal everyone to pray for God’s intervention during this crucial time.

Sincerely,
Jerri Dias
