Presidential Guards win COP T20 Title

Presidential Guards division of the Guyana Police Force won the Commissioner of Police (CoP) Inter- Division T20 tournament after defeating ‘A’ Division by six wickets on Saturday at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.

Presidential Guards’ victory was spearheaded by Paul Tyndall, who enjoyed an all-round performance scoring 63 and taking two wickets to be adjudge player of the final.

‘A’ Division won the toss and opted to take first strike, registering 150-6 from 20 overs in the process, with Kelvin Leitch and Jayson Heyliger responsible for 37 and 29 respectively. Tyndall (2-14) and Z. London were outstanding with the ball for the Presidential Guards unit. In reply, Tyndal struck 10 boundaries in a top score of 63 from 54 deliveries as his side completed a successful chase in 18.4 overs. Tyndal added 112 in a productive first wicket stance with K. Allicock, who made 41 with two fours and a solitary six.

Kareem Naughton chipped in with 14 as PG finished on 152-4 to be declared champions. D. Larose was ‘A’ Division’s best bowler picking up 2-13 while Heyliger took one wicket.
