The first night of the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Titan Bowl X bounced off at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Thursday in the under-18 category.
The night saw President’s College, Marian Academy and New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) registering commanding wins to highlight the action.
The first match saw President’s College pitted against Christ Church, with the latter being on the receiving end of a thrashing, as President’s College won the match 57-10.

Scoring for President’s College were Gabriel Lim, who had 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Ruel Monroe supported with 13 points and 3 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Christ Church top-scorer was Rahiem Neils with 6 points and 3 rebounds.
In the second game, Marian Academy battled Saint Stanislaus College in a back- and-forth encounter that ended in favour of Marian Academy at 39-23. Scoring for Marian Academy were Josiah Daniels, with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals; while Tyrese James chipped in with 8 points and 3 rebounds.
In the final matchup, New Amsterdam Technical Institute and Kwakwani battled to the very end in an absolute thriller. The game ended 39-36 in favour of the New Amsterdam side, but both teams presented the perfect example of how competitive basketball should be played.
Scoring for New Amsterdam, Kadeen Dover compiled 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals; while Gevon Schultz chipped in with 8 points and 4 rebounds.
