Played at 3W’s Oval Cave Hill, Barbados, the host spectacular unbeaten run continued as they defeated Jaguars by two wickets to move to six wins from as many matches and closer to a semifinal bout with the number two team from group A.
The win was inspired by Ashley Nurse, who claimed three wickets which help restrict Jaguars to 186 all out in 50 overs before half centuries from Kevin Stoute, who was promoted to open the batting and Shai Hope led their response.
Pride chase was not off to the best start as they lost their most in-form batsman Kraigg Braithwaite for three and the score on 10. However, Stoute (51) and Hope joined forces for a solid 70 run partnership which put them in a strong position to win the match.
Devendra Bishoo brought back in after missing out on the previous match got the breakthrough when he dismissed Stoute. Hope and Jonathan Carter (17) took the score to 119 before the latter was dismissed off the bowling of Veerasammy Permaul. Eight runs later Roston Chase was caught behind to give Raymond Reifer his second wicket and the Jaguars a shot at winning the match.
With 60 runs required from 11 overs and six wickets remaining, the game was still in Pride’s favour but they suffered another blow when Shane Dowrich fell victim to Permaul at 146-5. Anxiety was further raised in the Jaguars camp as Pride lost their top scorer Shai Hope for 63 at 160.
Two more wickets went down for the Pride but Carlos Braithwaite and Jomel Warrican saw them over the line as they finished unbeaten on 11 and two respectively. Reifer was Jaguars top bowler, collecting 4-46 while Ronsford Beaton claimed two wickets.
When the Jaguars batted, they were off to a good start with the opening pair of Assad Fudadin (18) and Rajendra Chandrika (30) setting the tone with a 58 run partnership. However, after Chandrika departed bowled by the Jaguars’ menace, off spinner Nurse for 30, the remaining nine wickets collapse for 128 runs.
Shortly after Chandrika’s dismissal, Fudadin was caught on the boundary by Jomel Warrican off the bowling of Roston Chase.  In came Christopher Barnwell, who was promoted to bat at four but did not last long as he was run out for six by Jonathan Carter.
With the score on 86-3 and the Jaguars leading batsmen this season, skipper Leon Johnson and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, together at the crease there must have been hope in the Jaguars camp. However, their time out in the middle was cut short by Nurse, who had Chanderpaul caught and bowled for one with just one added to the Jaguars’ score.
More disasters followed Chanderpaul’s dismissal as the Jaguars slumped to 119-7, with Johnson (21), Steven Jacobs (2) and Reifer (21) back in the hut with just 33 runs added.

A 42 run eight wicket partnership between wicket keeper batsman Anthony Bramble (29) and Permaul (32) help the Jaguars from falling for a total below 150 but at that time there were limited overs remaining resulting in them having to take chances.
Bramble was dismissed by skipper Holder caught by Miguel Cummins at 161-8 then eight runs later Bishoo was removed off the bowling of Carlos Braithwaite.
Ronsford Beaton seven not out and Permaul rallied until the last ball was bowled, resulting in Permaul’s dismissal by Holder. Nurse was the chief wicket taker for Pride with 3-28 from 10 overs while Holder and Chase captured two wickets each.Capture
