Promising prospects stand out at Mayor Holland Swim Meet

A sample of talented swimmers was on show yesterday when the Mayor Carwyn Holland Swim Meet was staged at the Torpefo Swim Club at the Watooka Pool, Linden.

The Mining town meet has now completed its second annual year with the event showing promises of getting better.

Turning in top performances were Raphael Harding (boys 8-and-under), Romeno Daw (boys 9-10 yrs) and Jumia Bremner (girls 9-10 yrs).

The 11-12 champions were Devon Spencer and Annalisa Davis, the 13-14 female champion was Jasmine Thom while the 15-17 champions were Fitzroy Thom and Nicola Balman and in the Open races Nikita Fiedtkou, Maureen Johnson and Damian Spencer turned in good performances.

Event coordinator Mary Chung Phillips helped showcase some of the future stars of the sport while the trophies and medals were handed out by Linden’s Mayor Carwyn Holland.
