Chief-of-Staff Brigadier Patrick West issued Colonel Raul Jerrick with his new badge of rank and was ably assisted by the Colonel’s wife. The remaining officers’ badges were handed over by commanding officers and branch heads of the GDF.
Brigadier West congratulated the officers and encouraged them to continue their good works. He pointed out that the demands of the Force on the officers tended to make for some difficulties from time to time. Brigadier West also thanked the officers’ spouses, and family members for their support, which he indicated was essential to the delivery of their duties to the nation.

Meanwhile, Colonel Jerrick, the most senior officer in the line-up, said that their achievement of this milestone could not have blossomed without the support of their families, the Force, and its leadership. He further pledged that they (the recipients of the promotions) would continue to be professional, serving with integrity and a honed focus on the Force’s future development.
