The Private Sector Commission (PSC) has extended its Business Support Desk outreach to Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), with about 35 business owners attending a session.

The engagement, aimed at helping established businesses prepare for financing and investment opportunities, was held on Thursday at the Region 10 Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Development, where participants were informed about the free advisory services available through the Business Support Desk (BSD).
According to the PSC, the session focused on helping established businesses seeking financing of $5 million or more to become bank- and investor-ready. The Desk assists businesses with preparing business plans, financial statements, financial projections and other supporting documents required when seeking financing.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for business owners to ask questions and express interest in accessing the services.
In a social media post, the PSC said that the outreach is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the financial readiness of businesses across Guyana and improve their access to financing and investment opportunities.
The session was led by PSC Vice Chairwoman Kathy Smith, alongside Chairman of the PSC’s Regional Subcommittee Krishnand Jaichand, Vice Chairman Dr Clinton Urling, BSD Project Manager Jared Kissoon and Project Assistant Luke Chung.
The PSC also acknowledged the support of Lyndon Younge, Chairman of the Region 10 Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Development, and the Linden business community.
The Business Support Desk is an initiative of the PSC supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Businesses interested in accessing the free advisory services can contact the Desk on 592-740-4761 or via email at [email protected].
