Public Works orders removal of abandoned vehicles from GT roads

The Public Works Ministry has issued an immediate removal notice to the owners of several vehicles left along Lying Street, Charlestown, and Cul-de-Sac Road, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown warning that the vehicles will be removed if they are not taken away without delay. In a public notice issued on Monday, the Ministry said the owners of the identified vehicles are required to remove them immediately as part of efforts to keep roadways clear and safe for public use. According to the Ministry, failure to comply with the notice will result in the vehicles being removed by the authorities in keeping with standard procedures.

It also warned that owners who continue relocating their vehicles or other property from one location to another in an attempt to evade enforcement, or who repeatedly ignore removal notices, will have their property seized. According to the Ministry, the Government does not intend to permanently retain any seized property. However, owners will be responsible for all costs associated with the removal of the vehicles. The notice also advised that anyone seeking to reclaim a seized vehicle must first visit the Public Works Ministry to settle the outstanding removal charges before the property can be released.
