Quarter-final action on tonight at Amelia’s Ward

Guinness “Greatest of the Streets” Linden Zone…

Defending champions Team 25 will be among eight teams vying for a spot in the semi-finals when the quarter-finals of the  Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Zone are  held tonight at the Amelia’s Ward Tarmac.
Swag Entertainment will oppose Cherokee Park from 20:00hrs followed by  Dave and Celina All-Stars  against  Young King at 20:30hrs.  Jermaine and Family Silver Bullets will then lock horns with  High Rollers from 21:00hrs after which the defending champs clash with Amelia Ward Russians from 21:30hrs.
During the round-of 16 stage, Team 25 withstood a stubborn display by Coomacka to squeeze out a narrow 1-0. Tevin Crawford made the difference when he slotted home the lone goal of the game in the eight minute. Silver Bullets then mowed down Eagles by a 4-0 margin with Jermaine Lewis firing in a brace in the eighth and 18th minutes, while Triston Ally and Damion Williams completed their tally with strikes in the 15th and 19th minutes respectively.
Swag Entertainment was another team that registered an impressive win with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Goodfellas.

The Linden zone has produced some intense rivalry thus far

Shane Luckie led the way with a pair of goals in the 15th and 16th minutes, while Colwyn Drakes added the other after two minutes of play.
Amelia Ward Panthers squeezed past Main Street Panthers 1-0 with Travis Watterton’s 17th minute strike separating the teams.
Cherokee Park edged Future Stars 1-0 through a Phillip Austin goal in the 17th minute, while High Rollers derailed Dream Chasers pursuit of a place in the next round following a 1-0 win; Kendolph Lewis 14th minute goal made the difference.
Dave and Celina All-Stars proved too strong for Amazings, who they defeated 3-0 with the veteran Rawle ‘Boney’ Gittens, Keon Sears and Kennard Simon, the players on target in the third, seventh and 18th minutes respectively.
Young Stars beat Trainline Warriors 2-0 in a penalty shootout after regulation time finished 1-1.
Tshehedi Whitehead was on target in the seventh minute for Young Stars, while Kellon Adams equalised twelve minutes later for Trainline Warriors.
The winning team will take away $400,000 and the championship trophy along with the opportunity to play in the National Playoffs.
Second, third and fourth placed finishers receive $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
