Queen’s College ended their round-robin matches in the 5th Petra Organised Milo School’s under-18 Football Championship with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over arch rivals Mae’s Secondary.
Kevin Williams opened the scoring for the Camp road unit in the 12th minute while Jonathan Willis (58th) and Michael Hunter (66th) added the other two; Isaiah Stephens was the lone scorer for Mae’s in the 27th. School of the Nations also had a resounding victory, winning 8-0 over Central High via hat-trick from Andy Parks who netted in the 7th, 56th and 69th. Support came from the heels of Peter Perez (37th & 55th), Quadel DeFreitas (5th), Darren Thomas (9th) and Jibril Abdullah (57th).
Similarly, Tutorial High won 2-0 against St. George’s due to a brace by Travis Hercules, scoring in the 44th and 68th.
Meanwhile, North Georgetown edged Dolphin Secondary 3-2 with Beres Parkinson netting twice, first in the 9th and then the 36th and teammate Leandre Gilbert in the 3rd while Brandon Solomon (27th) and Rayon Bailey (47th) tried desperately to secure a point for their team.
The championship will now move into the elimination round as the top two finishers in each group have advanced.
Winner of the tourney will receive $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy while the second, third and fourth placed sides will pocket $300,000,$200,000 and $100,000 respectively towards a school initiative and a trophy.
