Rain delays franchise league 50-over tournament

― players shortlisted for practice ahead of Regional Super 50

Cricket Guy Inc. wishes to advise that the Jaguars One Day 50 Overs League which was scheduled to commence today has been deferred to a date to be announced later. This deferral is due persistent rains which has left earmarked grounds in an unfavorable playing conditions.

As a consequence, Cricket Guy Inc. has shortlisted 28 players for practice matches tentatively set for the National Stadium at Providence on January 5 and 6, 2017.
Meanwhile, the players will be going through some fielding and fitness drills under the watchful eyes of Head Coach, Esuan Crandon and Assistant Coach Rayon Griffith from 10:00h today at Providence, weather permitting. This exercise will give the coaching staff a fair idea of the composition of the teams ahead of the matches on Thursday and Friday. These two matches are likely to be the final game context opportunity that players would have before the selection of the final 14 man squad of the Guyana Jaguars team in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League Regional Super 50.  The Guyana Jaguars will looking to capture the championship title when the tournament commences on 24 January, 2017 with matches in two zones, one in Antigua and the other in Barbados.
The shortlisted players for the two (2) trail matches are Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Johnson, Assad Fudadin, Raymon Reifer, Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Keon Joseph, Paul wintz, Christopher Barnwell, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Romario Shepherd, Tevin Imlach, Anthony Adams, Gudakesh Motie, Robin Bacchus, Anthony Bramble, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ronsford Beaton, Rajendra Chandrika, Vishaul Singh, Jonathan Foo, Sherfane Rutherford, Royston Crandon, Clinton Pestano, Steven Jacobs, Eon Hooper and Kevon Boodie.
