Rain forces postponement

Persistent rain has forced the postponement of the Dave West Indian Imports Under-15 Inter county final which was originally scheduled for Saturday at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground, Bourda.
When players, officials and spectators turned up at the historic venue, they were greeted with heavy covers on the pitch and flooded boundaries due to persistent overnight and early morning rain.
Since the venue was deemed unplayable, the Guyana Cricket Board and sponsor Dave West Indian Imports have agreed to a rescheduled final between Berbice and Demerara.

The date and venue will be decided soon.
In the build up to the championship match, defending champions Berbice who came through the preliminary rounds unbeaten were heavy favourites for a repeat.
However, Demerara whose only defeat came at the hands of the champions in round two at the Everest Cricket Club ground were at home and may have sprung a surprise.
When the date and venue for the final is known, Berbice off-spinner Jonathan Rampersaud will look to add to his tally of 13 wickets while inform skipper Zeynul Ramsammy will look to register the first half century of the tournament to spur their team on.
On the other hand, Demerara will hope that Shamar Yearwood, captain Mavindra Dindyal, Nicholas Rajpat, Zachary Jodha and Rommel Datterdeen show up on the big stage in their quest to reclaim the title.
Berbice are the defending champions.
