Home Sports Rain interrupts WIFBSC’s final ranges shoot
Rain ruined day four of the West Indies Full Bore Shooting Council’s (WIFBSC) 150th shoot, forcing the remaining ranges to be shot on Saturday.
At the end of Wednesday’s action, Irishman Alexander Gill had already been determined X class individual champ and national Captain Mahendra Persaud being named Caribbean best shooter after both marksmen dominated the first few days of the competition.
The top 44 shooters were then resumed action on Thursday to determine the final 20 who would contest at the 900 and 1000 yard ranges. unfortunately after the first three ranges were shot and the marksmen were having lunch, the rain arrived and ended the action.
Following Saturday’s team shoot for the long and short bore titles, the last two ranges will be shot.
Meanwhile the shooters will use Friday to tour the majestic Kaieture and Orinduk Falls while President of the West Indies Fullbore Shooting Council, Maj. (ret’d) John Nelson of Jamaica, had a meeting with Team Captains Thursday afternoon to cover all the pertinent matters for the WIFBSC Team shoots this weekend.
