The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced a 14-member squad to represent Guyana at the upcoming Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Under-19 Championship in Antigua and Barbuda, following several weeks of intensive preparation.
All-rounder Parmeshwar Ram will lead the team, which depart Guyana on July 9, as they look to challenge for regional honours.
The squad comprises Ram (Captain); Romario Ramdeholl (Vice Captain); Shamar Apple; Adrian Hetmyer; Justin Dowlin; Yannick Newton; Dhanesh Persaud; Kush Seegobin; Joshua Budhram; Gilbert Griffith; Feaz Baksh; Micah Amsterdam; Jonathan Mentore and Darwin Joseph.
The team will be managed by Nazeer Mohamed along with Head Coach Kumar Bishundial and Assistant Coach Antony Adams.

According to the GCB, Head Coach Bishundial said he was pleased with the balance of the selected squad and he believed the players were ready for the challenge ahead.
“The players have worked extremely hard throughout the encampment and have shown tremendous commitment despite a few challenges with the weather. We have selected a talented and balanced group, and I believe they have what it takes to represent Guyana with pride. The expectation is to play disciplined cricket, compete in every match, and give ourselves the best opportunity to be successful.”
Assistant Coach Adams echoed those sentiments, commending the players’ attitude and eagerness to improve throughout the preparation period.

“The response from the players has been excellent. They’ve embraced the work, supported each other and shown a real desire to learn. As a coaching staff, we’re excited about what this group can achieve, and we have every confidence they’ll give a good account of themselves at the regional championship,” Adams shared.
The GCB has extended its best wishes to the players and management, expressing confidence that the team will proudly represent Guyana throughout the tournament in Antigua and Barbuda.
