Rambaran is new Chairman as Cavaliers host AGM

On Saturday evening Anil Rambaran was elected unopposed to the post of Chairman of the G. Square Cavaliers Sports Club, when the entity held its Annual General Meeting in Wakenaam.
Rambaran and the entire executive body were elected to the various positions unopposed.  The following persons make up the rest of the club’s hierarchy, Vice Chairman Bhesham Bhagpatti, Secretary / Treasurer Tameshwar Persaud ( was re-elected for three consecutive years) and committee members Heramant Heeraman, Jagarnauth Manbodh, Chandrika Ragnauth and Lokram Narine. The four committee members were elected from a total of six persons who seek the position.
The executive committee is expected to meet this week to set up sub committees and discuss plans for 2017.
The club is in existence for three years and it is located on the island of Wakenaam, in the village of Belle Plaine. The executives at the club do not only focus on sports but every year they carry out a community project. The last project they did was an extension to the Wakenaam cottage hospital emergency room.
?Membership stands just over 50 at the entity and this year it is expected to grow with some new initiatives expected to be implemented.
The club also strive to promote a family relationship among members and to have the best discipline team.
