Ramdhani siblings claim top honour

Trophy Stall Annual Independence Badminton…

The Ramdhani siblings, Narayan and Priyanna won the major titles of the Trophy Stall Annual Independence Badminton Tournament on the final night of action in the two-day event at the National Gymnasium on Saturday.

Narayan claimed the Men’s title while his sister was triumphant in the Ladies category. Narayan who recently returned Canada owing to the first break of his scholarship there defeated Jonathan Mangra: 21-15, 21-14 while Priyanna won her match against Greer Jackson to claim the top accolade.
After the Finals the presentation was made by the Director of the National Sports Commission Christopher Jones subsequent to a few words from him and the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) President Gokarn Ramdhani.

Under-11 boys singles: first place: Avinash Ramnarine, second place: Nikhil Sookraj and third place: Leron Ramascindo
Under-11 girls singles: first place: Amara Mohamed and 2nd place: Gianna Ramnarine.

Under-15 boys singles: 1st place: Andrew Debidin, 2nd place: Vikash Mootoo and 3rd place: Omar Samad.
Under-15 girls singles: 1st place: jayde dasilva, 2nd place: sarah samad and 3rd place: sacha wang.
Open men singles: 1st place: Narayan Ramdhani, 2nd place: Jonathan Mangra and 3rd place: Marlon Chung.
Open ladies singles: 1st place: Priyanna Ramdhani, 2nd place: Greer Jackson and 3rd place: Shivannie Persaud.
