Vish Trading CEO Vish Ramdial hailed the members of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) for making Saturday’s memorial Open a huge success, adding that he’s now driven to make the event even bigger in the future.
Vish, son of the late Prabhudial “Speedy” Ramdial, who was an avid golfer and close member of the club for more than a decade; told Guyana Times Sport on Saturday evening following the 7th annual Open, that he was overwhelmed by the turnout. “This turnout was very good; I like it because there were a lot of persons enthusiastic about playing golf”. He said.
While this year’s winner, Rohan Albert walked away with a big trophy, Ramdial confirmed that the 8th edition onwards will see the top golfer winning a medal made of pure gold. He said the medal will be the hallmark of his father’s memory as such a prize was never done in golf before.
The businessman, who a few weeks back promised the members of the LGC four new electric golf carts, further confirmed that he has already sourced the vehicles from China and they should be arriving soon. Ramdial said the move was part of his way of keeping his father’s memory going all year round, while it will help to further expand the club.
As a new member Ramdial on Saturday evening following the Open, was given platinum membership for himself and five family members for an entire year,

Also, LGC President Aleem Hussain along with a full house consisting of golfers and other executives inducted MACORP CEO Jorge Medina as the club’s honorary member for his outstanding work in the club’s restoration project.
The members also hailed MACORP Product Supply Manager Guillermo Escarraga for his recent push in ensuring the Excavator which was provided by the company had its part replaced after it was damaged.
Hussain said the machine had been working overtime since last December in ensuring the course was playable at the start of 2018, however a part of the machine went bad and Escarraga ensured the part was flown in and the excavator was up and running to continue the ongoing works.
The members recognized both executives for the contributions and pledged to continue the long-term partnership. (Clifton Ross)
