Ramnauth to give Pomeroon its own version of Youth League

– slated to commence in August

Founder and primary sponsor of the Development Youth Cricket League, Devon Ramnauth, has committed to giving Pomeroon its own leg of the league in the upcoming second edition slated for August.
Pomeroon Organizer Ernesto Demattos had indicated that it has been 15 years (2006) since a youth cricket tournament was played in Pomeroon. The league’s Pomeroon PRO, Boaz Roberts, will work hand in hand with Demattos and Head Organizer of the league, Trevis Simon, to make this a successful venture, after which a Pomeroon XI will be selected to play the Essequibo Coast XI.
For the Pomeroon leg, at least 4 teams from Upper and Lower Pomeroon will play a Round Robin tournament, and the incentives will be the same as the Essequibo Coast leg, which include Man of The Match, Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Most Valuable Play (MVP), Winner and 2nd Place Trophies.
Former Pomeroon youth players Delvin and Sherman Austin and Oscar Richmond, along with Charity, Essequibo Coast businessman Imtiaz Barakat, have already pledged their continued support for this initiative to help the Pomeroon youths.
