Dear Editor,
There is rampant cultivation and consumption of marijuana in the Santa Rosa Amerindian Village, Moruca sub region, Region One (Barima-Waini), before the eyes of law enforcement officials and they are not doing anything about it. There is a Police station based in the Santa Rosa Village.
Marijuana cultivation and consumption in the village are destroying the lives of Amerindians, particularly the young including school students.
Villagers are highly concerned over narcotics consumption in the Santa Rosa Village but they have no one to complain to.
I am calling on the Minister of Public Security, the Commissioner of Police and the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) to stamp out marijuana cultivation and consumption in the Santa Rosa Amerindian Village.
Yours truly,
James Cornelius
