Rawle Toney 3×3 Classic brings the heat on night 1

Some much-needed basketball action soothed the soul of many fans as the action in the Rawle Toney 3×3 Classic commenced on Saturday night at the Burnham Hardcourt, with 16 teams battling in the preliminary rounds to determine their slot in the finale and a shot at $500,000.

The matches were spectacular as the management brought the basketball vibes on the newly-refurbished Burnham Hardcourt, the lighting was superb, and the fans were going wild – all in a COVID-friendly environment. Fans were able to witness defending champions Pitbull 3.0 dominate their match-up as the other teams duked it out.

The results for the first night are as follow:
* Pitbull defeated Vertically Challenged 22-1
* East Siders defeated Pacesetters 21-13
* Conquerors defeated Mamba 13-10
* Gunnerz defeated Renegades 14-5
* Royals defeated Linden 6-5
* Guardians defeated Q Ballers 16-12
* GDF defeated West Siders 9-8
* Titans defeated Venezuela 11-7
Sharing his sentiment on social media as to how the first night progressed was founder of the event, Rawle Toney, who said, “Thank you all for the overwhelming support shown to the first night of my tournament. Truth be told, with all that’s happening around town tonight, I really didn’t expect to have the kind of support I did on the first night. But the support was amazing! I was in awe. So, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone, thank you all once again.”

The rules of the tournament stated that proceeding forward all losers will play each other and all winners will play against each other to advance, therefore, resulting in a double knockout, which would determine who would advance to the quarter-finals and so forth.
