The lanky all-rounder enters his second year with the Amazon Warriors after a sterling 2016 with mostly bat in hand, sniping up 16 wickets at an average of 18.6 from the 12 matches.

With a wide range of experience, Emrit is known for his ability to deceive batsmen with is slower-balls and cutters which makes him one of the most valuable assets to the team. He received his big break when included in the West Indies squad for an ODI tour of India a few months before the 2007 World Cup. He played only two games, though, and batted too low down the order to have significant impact and took no wickets. He hasn’t received a national call-up since but he’s been in Trinidad and Tobago’s scheme of things in all forms of the game.
Though, the globe-trotting T20 cricketer takes his job serious, there is softer side to the player which emanates from spending time with his daughter.
“She makes me happy when I’m away from cricket especially when I loose matches. I don’t taking loosing very well. When I’m with her she makes me feel comfortable”, the player told Guyana Times Sport.
Adamant that he cannot cook to save his life, Emrit also revealed that if not cricket, he would have turned to the sport of football. The Mohawk rocking cricketer is urging all Warriors to come out in their numbers and support the team.
“We are a great franchise, we have been to finals three times and it is unfortunate we never won. It is a good bunch of guys and our team unity is like a family and the fans should come out and be a 12th man”.
The bowler is expected to partner Sohail Tanveer in the power play overs and the ‘death’ and possibly will be on the go-to bowlers for skipper Martin Guptill.
