Red Lock Road to be finally completed

Residents and business people in the logging and transportation industry can now breathe a sigh of relief as the final rehabilitation of the Red Lock Road is near completion.

The Red Lock Road under construction

The Red Lock Road connects Lima Sands, Mainstay/Whyaka, Tapakuma and other interior locations in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
The contractor, Vish Turbo Contracting Service was highly praised for the quality of work being done on the final stretch of the road.
A minibus operator plying the Lima Sands route said that the contractor has prepared a complete diversion for vehicles and other road users along the entire stretch of road under construction so as to give continued access without any interference with the project.
He said that for a very long time now, contractors building roads and bridges did not create diversions, causing tremendous wastage of time for the travelling public and the project.
He also noted that the contractor was doing an excellent job by putting down a strong foundation which would result in a stronger roadway.
The man added that residents were satisfied with the way works were being progressing and hope that the weather would be friendly so as to see the completion of the road before the end of the year.
This is the only access road leading to the many lakes and resorts in the area, amongst them the popular Mainstay Lake Resort.
