The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has named its Under-16 male squad to compete in the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-County Under-16 Cricket Tournament, which bowls off today, Monday, February 16.
The team will be captained by Leon Reddy, with Luke Amsterdam serving as Vice Captain. The remainder of the squad comprises Shahid Gajnabi, Lemuel DeJonge, Brandon Grimmond, Nhar Latchagadu, Trevor Renolds, Ravindra Persaud, Akash Ramdewar, Jayden Ganpat, Justin Hicks, Altaf Ali, Said Jumratty, Asgaralli Nabi and Dinesh Singh.
Five standby players have also been identified: Darren Sinclair, Gautam Dhanraj, Nicquan Fraser, Solomon Hercules, and Anthony Persaud.
Berbice will begin its campaign at home against the GCB Select XI at the Rose Hall Community Centre Ground, East Canje. In the other opening-day fixture, Demerara will face Essequibo at the La Bonne Intention (LBI) Ground on the East Coast of Demerara.
The competition continues on Tuesday with the GCB Select XI opposing Demerara at LBI, while Berbice take on Essequibo at the Lusignan Ground. On Thursday, Berbice and Demerara will clash at Lusignan, with the Select XI meeting Essequibo at LBI.
The final is set for February 21 and will be played at either the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Ground or the LBI venue.
All matches are scheduled to commence at 09:30h.
